ShotPal Privacy Policy

ShotPal is an Android app for finding, sorting and searching the screenshots already on your device. This policy explains what the app does with information while you use it.

The short version
ShotPal works entirely on your device. It has no account system, no developer server, no advertising, no analytics and no crash reporting, and it does not hold the Android INTERNET permission. We never receive your screenshots, the text inside them, or anything you organise.
Information the app processes on your device
ShotPal stores the following in its private app storage on your device:
- References to screenshots in Android's media library (MediaStore) and their metadata: content URI, file name, dates, dimensions, file size, file type, folder path and album name.
- Text recognised inside your screenshots, used for search.
- What you organise: folders, tags, notes, review decisions (for example kept, read later or marked for deletion) and the order of your folders.
- App settings: whether onboarding is complete, theme, app icon, screenshots per session, haptic feedback, and whether text recognition is turned on.
This information is used only to provide ShotPal's features and is never sent to us.
Photo access
ShotPal asks for access to images so it can find screenshots in your media library and show them to you. On Android 14 and later you can grant access to all photos or only to photos you select; ShotPal works with whichever you choose and only shows what Android makes available.
ShotPal reads image metadata and thumbnails to list your screenshots, and reads full images when you open one or when the text in it is recognised. Camera photos and other non-screenshot images are skipped. Creating folders, adding tags or notes, and sorting never move or change your original files.
Text recognition
To make screenshots searchable, ShotPal recognises the text inside them using Google ML Kit Text Recognition with a model that is bundled inside the app. Recognition runs on your device, in the background while the app is open. The recognised text is stored only in ShotPal's local database.
ML Kit normally includes a component that sends usage and performance statistics to Google. ShotPal removes that component and has no internet permission, so no recognition data or statistics leave your device. You can turn text recognition off at any time in Settings.
Images you share to ShotPal
When you share an image to ShotPal from another app and choose where to keep it, ShotPal saves a new copy in Pictures/Screenshots/ShotPal on your device. This only happens when you ask for it.
Deleting screenshots
ShotPal never deletes a screenshot on its own. When you choose to delete, Android shows its own confirmation, and files are removed only if you approve it.
Backup and restore (ShotPal Pro)
With ShotPal Pro you can export a backup file containing your folders, tags, notes, recognised text, review decisions and references to your screenshots. Image files are not included. You choose where the file is saved through Android's file picker, and the place you choose (for example a cloud drive) handles it under its own terms.
ShotPal's database and settings are excluded from Android's automatic cloud backup and device-to-device transfer, so a copy exists outside the app only when you export one yourself.
Purchases through Google Play
ShotPal Pro is an optional one-time purchase handled by Google Play Billing. Google processes your account, payment and transaction information under Google's own terms and privacy policy. ShotPal only receives whether you own Pro, so it can unlock it. We never see your payment details.
Sharing with third parties
We do not sell, rent or share your information, and there is nothing for us to share because nothing is sent to us. If you share a screenshot with another app, export a backup, or open a link such as this policy or the Play Store page, the app or service you choose receives that content under its own policy.
Keeping and deleting your data
Your data stays on your device until you change or delete it in the app, clear ShotPal's storage in Android settings, or uninstall the app. Backup files you exported must be deleted from wherever you saved them. Removing something from ShotPal does not delete the original image; deleting an image is a separate action confirmed by Android.
Children
ShotPal is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Security
ShotPal keeps its data in private app storage protected by Android. No method of storage is perfectly secure, but because nothing is transmitted, your data is only as exposed as your device itself.
Changes to this policy
If the app's data practices change, we will update this policy and its effective date on this page.

Ringkasnya

Informasi yang diproses di perangkatmu
ShotPal menyimpan hal berikut di penyimpanan privat aplikasi di perangkatmu:
- Referensi ke screenshot di pustaka media Android (MediaStore) beserta metadatanya: URI konten, nama file, tanggal, dimensi, ukuran file, jenis file, jalur folder, dan nama album.
- Teks yang dikenali di dalam screenshot, untuk keperluan pencarian.
- Hal yang kamu rapikan: folder, tag, catatan, keputusan pemilahan (misalnya disimpan, baca nanti, atau ditandai untuk dihapus), dan urutan folder.
- Setelan aplikasi: status onboarding, tema, ikon aplikasi, jumlah screenshot per sesi, getaran, dan apakah pengenalan teks aktif.
Informasi ini hanya dipakai untuk menjalankan fitur ShotPal dan tidak pernah dikirim kepada kami.
Akses foto
ShotPal meminta akses gambar agar bisa menemukan screenshot di pustaka mediamu dan menampilkannya. Di Android 14 ke atas, kamu bisa memberi akses ke semua foto atau hanya foto pilihan; ShotPal bekerja dengan pilihan mana pun dan hanya menampilkan yang diizinkan Android.
ShotPal membaca metadata dan thumbnail gambar untuk menampilkan daftar screenshot, serta membaca gambar penuh saat kamu membukanya atau saat teks di dalamnya dikenali. Foto kamera dan gambar lain yang bukan screenshot dilewati. Membuat folder, menambah tag atau catatan, dan memilah tidak pernah memindahkan atau mengubah file aslimu.
Pengenalan teks
Agar screenshot bisa dicari, ShotPal mengenali teks di dalamnya menggunakan Google ML Kit Text Recognition dengan model yang sudah disertakan di dalam aplikasi. Pengenalan berjalan di perangkatmu, di latar belakang selama aplikasi terbuka. Teks yang dikenali hanya disimpan di database lokal ShotPal.
ML Kit biasanya menyertakan komponen yang mengirim statistik penggunaan dan performa ke Google. ShotPal menghapus komponen tersebut dan tidak memiliki izin internet, sehingga tidak ada data pengenalan maupun statistik yang keluar dari perangkatmu. Kamu bisa mematikan pengenalan teks kapan saja di Setelan.
Gambar yang kamu bagikan ke ShotPal
Saat kamu membagikan gambar ke ShotPal dari aplikasi lain dan memilih tempat menyimpannya, ShotPal menyimpan salinan baru di Pictures/Screenshots/ShotPal di perangkatmu. Ini hanya terjadi atas permintaanmu.
Menghapus screenshot
ShotPal tidak pernah menghapus screenshot dengan sendirinya. Saat kamu memilih untuk menghapus, Android menampilkan konfirmasinya sendiri, dan file hanya dihapus jika kamu menyetujuinya.
Backup dan pemulihan (ShotPal Pro)
Dengan ShotPal Pro, kamu bisa mengekspor file backup berisi folder, tag, catatan, teks yang dikenali, keputusan pemilahan, dan referensi ke screenshot-mu. File gambar tidak disertakan. Kamu memilih lokasi penyimpanan file melalui pemilih file Android, dan layanan yang kamu pilih (misalnya penyimpanan cloud) mengelolanya sesuai ketentuannya sendiri.
Database dan setelan ShotPal dikecualikan dari backup cloud otomatis dan transfer antarperangkat Android, sehingga salinan di luar aplikasi hanya ada jika kamu mengekspornya sendiri.
Pembelian melalui Google Play
ShotPal Pro adalah pembelian sekali bayar yang opsional melalui Google Play Billing. Google memproses informasi akun, pembayaran, dan transaksimu sesuai ketentuan dan kebijakan privasi Google. ShotPal hanya menerima status apakah kamu memiliki Pro agar fiturnya bisa dibuka. Kami tidak pernah melihat detail pembayaranmu.
Berbagi dengan pihak ketiga
Kami tidak menjual, menyewakan, atau membagikan informasimu, dan memang tidak ada yang bisa dibagikan karena tidak ada yang dikirim kepada kami. Jika kamu membagikan screenshot ke aplikasi lain, mengekspor backup, atau membuka tautan seperti kebijakan ini atau halaman Play Store, aplikasi atau layanan yang kamu pilih menerima konten tersebut sesuai kebijakannya sendiri.
Penyimpanan dan penghapusan data
Datamu tetap di perangkat sampai kamu mengubah atau menghapusnya di aplikasi, menghapus penyimpanan ShotPal di setelan Android, atau mencopot aplikasi. File backup yang kamu ekspor harus dihapus dari lokasi penyimpanannya. Menghapus sesuatu dari ShotPal tidak menghapus gambar aslinya; menghapus gambar adalah tindakan terpisah yang dikonfirmasi Android.
Anak-anak
ShotPal adalah utilitas umum dan tidak ditujukan untuk anak-anak. Kami tidak dengan sengaja mengumpulkan informasi pribadi dari siapa pun, termasuk anak-anak.
Keamanan
ShotPal menyimpan datanya di penyimpanan privat aplikasi yang dilindungi Android. Tidak ada metode penyimpanan yang sepenuhnya aman, tetapi karena tidak ada yang dikirim, datamu hanya serentan perangkatmu sendiri.
Perubahan kebijakan
