PADEL & PICKLEBALL SCORE

Privacy Policy

Last updated:

1. About this policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Padel & Pickleball Score handles information when you use it on your Android phone or tablet and on your Wear OS watch. Padel & Pickleball Score keeps the score of padel, tennis, pickleball and badminton matches (and, with Premium, squash, table tennis and volleyball): you tap the side that won each rally, and the app counts points, games and sets and keeps a history of your matches. It works offline, needs no account, and does not ask for your email address, contacts, photos, camera, microphone or location.

2. Your matches stay on your devices

Padel & Pickleball Score does all of its scoring on your devices. The developer has no server that could receive your matches, names or statistics.

  • Matches. For each match the app keeps the sport, the rules you chose, the two side or team names, which side won each rally and when, when the match started, changed and finished, and the winner. Statistics and timelines are worked out from this on your device.
  • Player and team names. The names you type, or pick from your recent names, are stored with your matches. The app also keeps a list of the names you used, for name suggestions and for player statistics (Premium). Leave the names empty if you prefer: the app then shows "Side A" and "Side B".
  • Settings. Your default sport, the last rules and names you used for each sport, volume-button scoring, point sound and vibration, keep screen on, score screen theme, watch sync, app theme and language, together with app state such as your onboarding answer, review timing and your active Premium plan, are stored on your device.
  • On the watch. The watch app keeps the current match, your last 10 finished matches, the rules your phone last used for each sport, and the vibration setting in its own storage on the watch.
  • Backup. If Android backup is turned on, your matches, names and settings can be part of your own device backup, which Google stores for your Google account under its own policies. The same applies to the watch app if your watch backs up its apps. The developer has no access to these backups.

3. Your watch and phone (Wear OS sync)

If the app is installed on your phone and on a Wear OS watch paired with it, the two keep the same match. Whichever device you score on sends the current match to the other one; a match you finish on the watch is added to your phone's history; and your phone's last rules for each sport are copied to the watch.

  • This uses the Wear OS Data Layer, which is part of Google Play services on both devices. Google Play services delivers the data directly between your phone and watch over Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, or, when they are not connected directly, it may relay it through Google's servers for your Google account. It only goes to your own paired devices.
  • What is sent: the match (sport, rules, names, rallies and times, as described in section 2) and the phone's rules per sport. Nothing else, and nothing to the developer.
  • You can turn this off on your phone in Settings → Watch → Sync with your watch. The watch app works on its own either way.

4. Advertising (Google AdMob)

If you don't have Premium, the phone app shows ads from Google AdMob in two ways:

  • a banner at the bottom of the Home screen and of your match History, while they show content;
  • an optional rewarded ad that you can choose to watch to share one result card.

Ads never appear on the score screen, and the app shows no full-screen ads other than the rewarded ad you choose to watch. The watch app shows no ads. To deliver, measure and protect ads, Google and its ad partners may process your device's Android advertising ID, your IP address and the approximate location derived from it, device and app information, and ad interaction and diagnostic data.

Before ads load, Padel & Pickleball Score uses Google's User Messaging Platform to ask for your consent, or to offer the choices privacy laws require, where those laws apply (for example in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland). You can change your choices at any time under Settings → Ad privacy choices (shown when it applies to you), and you can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android's settings. On Android versions that offer them, the ads SDK may also use Android's own ad privacy features, which you control in your device's ad privacy settings. With Premium you see no ads: the app shows no consent form and doesn't start the ads SDK.

5. Purchases (Google Play)

Premium is sold through Google Play as a one-time purchase in the phone app. Google Play handles the payment: Padel & Pickleball Score never receives your card or other payment details. To unlock Premium, the app asks Google Play on your device which Padel & Pickleball Score purchases your Google account owns, and it stores only whether Premium is active. Google Play gives the developer order records (such as an order number, the product, the price, the date and the country) for accounting, tax, refunds and support. Google describes how it handles your purchase in the Google Privacy Policy and the Google Play Terms of Service. The watch app sells nothing.

6. Ratings and reviews

After you have finished a few matches, Padel & Pickleball Score may show Google Play's in-app review card when you close a match summary, at most once every 30 days and never over an ad. Your rating and review go to Google Play under your Google account; Padel & Pickleball Score does not receive them and does not know whether you left one.

7. Result cards, analytics, crash reports and support emails

  • Result cards (Premium). When you share a result card, the app draws an image with the names, scores and date on your phone and opens Android's share sheet. You choose where it goes; the app sends it nowhere by itself. The image is kept in the app's temporary files, which are cleared regularly.
  • No analytics. Padel & Pickleball Score does not include analytics or crash-reporting SDKs, and the developer does not track how you use the app. If this changes in a future version, this policy will be updated before that version is released.
  • Support emails. When you choose Settings → Send feedback, your email app opens a draft that includes the app version, Android version, device model and app language so we can help you; you can edit or delete these lines before sending. We use your email only to answer you.

8. Permissions

Padel & Pickleball Score asks for no permission while you use it. The phone app's Android manifest declares these, which Android grants at install:

  • Internet and network state: for ads, the consent form and Google Play purchases. Scoring and the watch sync don't need them.
  • Advertising ID and Android's ad services (AD_ID, ACCESS_ADSERVICES_AD_ID, ACCESS_ADSERVICES_ATTRIBUTION, ACCESS_ADSERVICES_TOPICS): added by the Google Mobile Ads SDK.
  • Google Play billing (BILLING): for purchases.
  • Vibration (VIBRATE): for the short vibration on each point (on by default; switch it off in Settings → Vibrate on every point).
  • Keep awake and foreground service (WAKE_LOCK, FOREGROUND_SERVICE): added by Android's job scheduling library, which the ads SDK uses. Padel & Pickleball Score has no background features of its own and shows no notifications. Keeping the screen on during a match is a display setting, not a background feature.
  • An internal permission (DYNAMIC_RECEIVER_NOT_EXPORTED_PERMISSION) that only Padel & Pickleball Score can hold. Android's support library uses it to protect the app's own messages.

The watch app declares only keep awake (WAKE_LOCK), so the score stays on screen in always-on mode, and the same internal permission. Neither app has a storage, photo, camera, microphone, location, contacts, Bluetooth, body sensor, health or notification permission. Scoring with the volume buttons only reads the buttons while the score screen is open, which needs no permission.

9. Children

Padel & Pickleball Score is a general-audience app and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through an ad, contact us and we will help you ask Google to delete it.

10. Retention, security and deletion

Matches, names and settings stay on your devices until you delete them in the app, clear the app's storage or uninstall Padel & Pickleball Score (on the phone, and separately on the watch). Advertising data is kept by Google under its own policies, and purchase records by Google Play. Depending on the law that applies to you, you may ask for access to or deletion of personal information processed on our behalf by writing to the contact below; we reply within 30 days and forward the request to the relevant provider. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, but Padel & Pickleball Score does not store personal information on its own servers, and the Google services it uses send data over encrypted connections.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when Padel & Pickleball Score's features or data practices change. The updated policy will show a new date on this page.

12. Contact

Terms of Use

By downloading or using Padel & Pickleball Score you agree to these terms. The developer grants you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, subject to the Google Play Terms of Service. Do not copy, modify, reverse-engineer or redistribute the app except as allowed by law.

Premium. Premium unlocks player statistics, result cards, score screen themes, squash, table tennis and volleyball, and removes ads. It is a one-time purchase (lifetime), at the price Google Play shows before you pay. Refunds follow Google Play's refund policies. Premium belongs to the Google account that bought it: use Settings → Restore purchases on another device. Watching a rewarded ad lets you share one result card. The watch app offers padel, tennis, pickleball and badminton.

Scores and rules. The app keeps the score you enter, using the rule options you choose. Rules differ between clubs, leagues and events, so check that your options match the ones you play. Padel & Pickleball Score is not affiliated with or endorsed by any sports federation, league or tournament, and its scores are not official results. The developer is not responsible for disputes about a score or a result.

Padel & Pickleball Score is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, lost data, or interruptions caused by your device, watch, operating system, store or ad provider. We may update the app or these terms; continued use after an update means you accept the updated terms. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia, without limiting consumer rights you have in your country.

Support

Need help? Email [email protected]. Settings → Send feedback fills in your app version, Android version and device model for you; the version is also shown at the bottom of Settings.

Keeping score. Tap the half of the screen of the side that won the rally. Undo takes back the last point, as many times as you need. Turn the phone sideways for the big scoreboard; the screen stays on while the score is shown (Settings → Keep screen on).

Rules. Choose the rules when you start a match: golden point, advantage or star point; one, three or five sets; a match tiebreak instead of the final set; side-out or rally scoring for pickleball; and more. Quick start on the Home screen reuses the last rules you played for that sport.

Volume buttons. Turn on Settings → Score with volume buttons. On the score screen, volume up gives the point to the left side and volume down to the right side; hold volume down to undo.

The watch doesn't show my phone's match. Install Padel & Pickleball Score on both the phone and the watch, from the same Google account, and keep Settings → Watch → Sync with your watch on. The watch must be paired with the phone in its companion app and connected. Score a point on either device to send the match again. The watch keeps scoring on its own while it is not connected.

Premium and restore. Premium is linked to your Google account. On a new phone, sign in with the same Google account and use Settings → Restore purchases.

Delete your data. Delete a finished match in History, or clear the app's storage or uninstall Padel & Pickleball Score to delete everything it keeps on that device; do the same on the watch for the watch's matches. For advertising data, use Settings → Ad privacy choices or your device's advertising ID settings, or email us with the subject "Delete my Padel & Pickleball Score data".
