Welcome to Bookreads. Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our iOS reading tracker application.

🔒 Information We Collect

Bookreads does not collect, sell, rent, or share your personal information. The app is designed to keep your reading library, progress, goals, and journal on your device.

                Books and library details — Book titles, authors, reading status, total pages, current page, notes, and locally saved cover images are stored on your device.
Reading sessions — Timer sessions, durations, dates, start pages, end pages, and session notes are stored locally to track your reading progress.
Goals and reminders — Reading goals, progress, reminder settings, and local notification preferences are stored locally on your device.
Journal entries — Notes, quotes, reviews, ratings, and optional page numbers are stored locally in your reading journal.
App preferences — Settings used to personalize the app experience are stored locally on your device.

            

🚫 Data We Do NOT Collect

Personal information, such as name, email address, or phone number
Your books, notes, quotes, reviews, ratings, or reading history
Cover images selected from your photo library
Location data
Usage analytics or advertising tracking data
Device identifiers for tracking

🔔 Notifications

Bookreads may request notification permission so you can schedule local reminders for reading goals. These reminders are created on your device and are not sent to our servers.

🖼️ Photo Library

Bookreads uses the system photo picker when you choose a local cover image for a book. Only the image you select is used, and it is saved locally on your device for display inside the app.

🗑️ Your Control

You can edit or delete books, reading sessions, goals, and journal entries in the app. You can also remove Bookreads from your device to delete locally stored app data according to iOS behavior.

🔗 Third-Party Services

The initial Bookreads release does not integrate with third-party analytics, advertising, tracking, account, or sync services. ISBN lookup, ads, and in-app purchases are not active in this release. If these features are added in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated.

👶 Children's Privacy

Bookreads does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.

🛡️ Data Security

Since your Bookreads data remains on your device, it is protected by your device's built-in security features, including passcode, Face ID, Touch ID, and system-level file protection where available.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
