BATTERY ALARM

Privacy Policy

1. About this policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Battery Full Alarm & Health ("Battery Alarm", the name on your home screen) handles information when you use it. Battery Alarm is an Android app that rings an alarm when your phone's battery reaches the charge level you choose or runs low, and shows the battery's charging status and condition. It works offline, needs no account, and does not ask for your name, email address, contacts, photos, camera, microphone or location.

2. Your battery data stays on your device

Battery Alarm reads and keeps everything on your device. The developer has no server that could receive your battery readings or charging history.

  • Battery readings. The app reads the battery information Android provides to every app without a permission: level, charging state, charger type, current, voltage, temperature, charge counter, health status, the system's time-to-full estimate and, on phones that report it (Android 14 and newer), the charge cycle count. It reads them while the app is open, while the charging monitor runs, and about every 15 minutes for the low battery alarm. They are shown on screen, in notifications and in the widget, and are never sent anywhere.
  • Charging monitor. While a charger is connected, the app runs a charging monitor with a visible ongoing notification. It compares the battery level with your alarm settings and stops when you unplug. It does not collect anything beyond the readings above.
  • Charging history. For each charge, the app records the start and end time and level, the charger type, the highest temperature, the average and peak current, the alarms that rang and an estimated capacity, plus readings taken during the charge (time, level, current, voltage, temperature, charge counter). This is recorded for everyone and shown in the history with Premium. Readings taken during a charge are deleted automatically after 90 days (checked each time the app starts); the summary of each charge stays until you delete it from its detail screen in the history (Premium), clear the app's storage or uninstall the app. Very short charges that gained nothing and rang no alarm are not kept.
  • Notifications. The ongoing charging notification, the alarms and the "Charging. Tap to monitor" reminder are created by the app on your device. The app sends no promotional notifications and uses no push service.
  • Settings. Your alarm levels and switches, alarm sound (a reference to a sound on your phone), vibration, ring until stopped, quiet hours, temperature unit, theme and language, together with app state such as your onboarding answers (including when you usually charge), alarm and snooze state, review and ad timing and your active Premium plan, are stored on your device.
  • Region and phone maker. The app picks °C or °F from your device's region setting (°F in the United States and a few other regions). It reads your phone's maker name to show the matching battery-optimization tip first. It does not use your location.
  • Backup. If Android backup is turned on, your charging history and settings can be part of your own device backup, which Google stores for your Google account under its own policies. The developer has no access to it.

3. Advertising (Google AdMob)

If you don't have Premium, Battery Alarm shows ads from Google AdMob in two ways:

  • a banner at the bottom of the Status screen and of the charging history, while those screens show content;
  • sometimes a full-screen ad at a natural break: when you leave the charging history. Never when the app starts, never in your first session, and at most one every three minutes.

Ads never appear in notifications, on the alarm screen or in the widget. To deliver, measure and protect ads, Google and its ad partners may process your device's Android advertising ID, your IP address and the approximate location derived from it, device and app information, and ad interaction and diagnostic data. Your battery readings and charging history are not given to the ads SDK.

Before ads load, Battery Alarm uses Google's User Messaging Platform to ask for your consent, or to offer the choices privacy laws require, where those laws apply (for example in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland). You can change your choices at any time under Settings → Ad privacy choices (shown when it applies to you), and you can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android's settings. On Android versions that offer them, the ads SDK may also use Android's own ad privacy features, which you control in your device's ad privacy settings. With Premium you see no ads: the app shows no consent form and doesn't start the ads SDK.

4. Purchases (Google Play)

Premium is sold through Google Play as a one-time purchase. Google Play handles the payment: Battery Alarm never receives your card or other payment details. To unlock Premium, the app asks Google Play on your device which Battery Alarm purchases your Google account owns, and it stores only whether Premium is active. Google Play gives the developer order records (such as an order number, the product, the price, the date and the country) for accounting, tax, refunds and support. Google describes how it handles your purchase in the Google Privacy Policy and the Google Play Terms of Service.

5. Ratings and reviews

After you have stopped a few full charge alarms, Battery Alarm may show Google Play's in-app review card the next time you open the app, at most once every 30 days, never on the alarm screen and never over an ad. Your rating and review go to Google Play under your Google account; Battery Alarm does not receive them and does not know whether you left one.

6. Analytics, crash reports and support emails

Battery Alarm does not include analytics or crash-reporting SDKs, and the developer does not track how you use the app. If this changes in a future version, this policy will be updated before that version is released. When you choose Settings → Send feedback, your email app opens a draft that includes the app version, Android version, device model and app language so we can help you; you can edit or delete these lines before sending. We use your email only to answer you.

7. Permissions

Battery Alarm asks for one permission while you use it:

  • Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS, Android 13 and newer): requested during setup, after a page that explains why. The alarms are notifications with a Stop button. If you decline, the alarms cannot ring and the charging monitor does not start; the app tells you so and links to Android's settings, where you can allow it later.

The app also asks you to allow background use (to turn off battery optimization for it) by opening Android's own settings list, where you choose. This is not a permission, and you can change it at any time.

Its Android manifest also declares these, which Android grants at install:

  • Foreground service (FOREGROUND_SERVICE, FOREGROUND_SERVICE_SPECIAL_USE): for the charging monitor, which runs only while a charger is connected and always shows a notification.
  • Run at startup (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED): to get the alarms ready again after your phone restarts.
  • Vibration (VIBRATE): for alarm vibration, which you can turn off in Settings.
  • Keep awake (WAKE_LOCK): added by Android's job scheduling library, which the app uses for its background checks, and by the ads SDK.
  • Internet and network state: for ads, the consent form and Google Play purchases.
  • Advertising ID and Android's ad services (AD_ID, ACCESS_ADSERVICES_AD_ID, ACCESS_ADSERVICES_ATTRIBUTION, ACCESS_ADSERVICES_TOPICS): added by the Google Mobile Ads SDK.
  • Google Play billing (BILLING): for purchases.
  • An internal permission (DYNAMIC_RECEIVER_NOT_EXPORTED_PERMISSION) that only Battery Alarm can hold. Android's support library uses it to protect the app's own messages.

The app has no storage, photo, camera, microphone, location, contacts, calendar or body sensor permission, and it does not use exact alarms or full-screen notifications. Battery information needs no permission.

8. Children

Battery Alarm is a general-audience tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through an ad, contact us and we will help you ask Google to delete it.

9. Retention, security and deletion

Your charging history and settings stay on your device until you clear the app's storage or uninstall Battery Alarm; you can also delete a single charge from its detail screen in the history (Premium). Readings taken during a charge are deleted automatically after 90 days. Advertising data is kept by Google under its own policies, and purchase records by Google Play. Depending on the law that applies to you, you may ask for access to or deletion of personal information processed on our behalf by writing to the contact below; we reply within 30 days and forward the request to the relevant provider. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, but Battery Alarm does not store personal information on its own servers, and the Google services it uses send data over encrypted connections.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when Battery Alarm's features or data practices change. The updated policy will show a new date on this page.

Terms of Use

By downloading or using Battery Alarm you agree to these terms. The developer grants you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, subject to the Google Play Terms of Service. Do not copy, modify, reverse-engineer or redistribute the app except as allowed by law.

Premium. Premium unlocks the charging history with charts, the high temperature alarm, quiet hours, the home-screen widget and no ads. It is a one-time purchase (lifetime), at the price Google Play shows before you pay. Refunds follow Google Play's refund policies. Premium belongs to the Google account that bought it: use Settings → Restore purchases on another device.

What the app does and does not do. Battery Alarm rings when the battery reaches the level you set, or runs low; you unplug or plug in the charger yourself. It does not control charging, and it does not repair, calibrate or otherwise change your battery. The values it shows come from your phone: makers report current, temperature, the charge counter and the cycle count differently, some don't report them at all, and the capacity is an estimate calculated from the charge counter. Many people prefer to stop charging at around 80%; the app makes no promise about your battery's condition or lifespan.

Alarms depend on your phone. Alarms need notifications to be allowed, and they come on time only while Android lets the app run in the background. Power savers, battery optimization, Do Not Disturb, a muted alarm volume or a closed notification channel can delay or silence them. The low battery alarm is checked about every 15 minutes while the phone is not charging. Don't rely on Battery Alarm where a missed or late alarm could cause harm.

Battery Alarm is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, a missed or late alarm, damage to a device, battery or charger, lost data, or interruptions caused by your device, operating system, store or ad provider. We may update the app or these terms; continued use after an update means you accept the updated terms. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia, without limiting consumer rights you have in your country.

Support

Need help? Email [email protected]. Settings → Send feedback fills in your app version, Android version and device model for you; the version is also shown at the bottom of Settings.

How monitoring works. When you plug in, Battery Alarm starts its charging monitor and shows a silent notification with the battery level. When the level reaches your target, the alarm rings; tap Stop in the notification or on the alarm screen. The monitor keeps watching until you unplug, then the notification disappears. If Android does not let the monitor start by itself, you see "Charging. Tap to monitor": one tap starts it.

The alarm did not ring, or rang late. Check three things in the app's Settings: Notifications must be allowed, the Charging monitor must be on, and Battery optimization must say Allowed (tap it to open Android's list, choose Battery Alarm and select Don't optimize, or Unrestricted). Also check that Do Not Disturb, quiet hours (Premium) or a muted alarm volume are not silencing it. Some phones have their own power saver as well; see the tips below.

Tips per phone maker. Menu names differ between phone models and system versions.

  • Xiaomi, Redmi, POCO: open Settings → Apps → Manage apps → Battery Alarm. Turn on Autostart and set Battery saver to No restrictions.
  • Samsung: open Settings → Battery → Background usage limits. Make sure Battery Alarm is not in Sleeping apps or Deep sleeping apps, or add it to Never sleeping apps.
  • OPPO, OnePlus: open Settings → Apps → Battery Alarm → Battery usage and allow background activity and auto launch.
  • vivo, iQOO: open Settings → Battery → Background power consumption management and allow Battery Alarm to use power in the background. Also allow Autostart for it.
  • realme: open Settings → Apps → App management → Battery Alarm → Battery usage and allow background activity and auto launch.
  • Other phones: if alarms come late, open Settings → Apps → Battery Alarm → Battery, choose Unrestricted if offered, and remove the app from any sleeping apps list.

The low battery alarm comes a little late. While the phone is not charging, the app checks the battery about every 15 minutes, the shortest interval Android allows for background checks, so the low battery alarm rings within about 15 minutes of reaching your level. It also checks when you open the app.

Why the alarm rings as soon as I plug in. If the battery is already at or above your target when charging starts, the alarm rings right away, so it is never missed. It rings again only after you unplug, or after the level drops 3 points below the target.

Cycle count, capacity and current. Android offers the cycle count from Android 14, and only on phones whose maker reports it; otherwise the app shows "Not reported by this phone". The capacity is estimated from the charge counter divided by the battery level, over several charges, and some phones don't report a charge counter. The current is positive while charging and negative while the phone runs on battery; some phones report it in other units or with the opposite sign, which the app corrects for after a few readings.

°C or °F. Choose the temperature unit in Settings → Temperature unit.

Premium and restore. Premium is linked to your Google account. On a new phone, sign in with the same Google account and use Settings → Restore purchases.

Delete your data. Clear the app's storage (Android Settings → Apps → Battery Alarm → Storage) or uninstall Battery Alarm to delete everything it keeps on your device. To delete a single charge, open it in the history (Premium) and choose Delete charge. For advertising data, use Settings → Ad privacy choices or your device's advertising ID settings, or email us with the subject "Delete my Battery Alarm data".
